Save the Africana Center at Cornell: SOLIDARITY ACTIONS
This flagship won’t sink! What you can do to defend the Africana Studies and Research Center’s autonomy at Cornell University!
o Participate in the National Call-In Mondays to the Cornell Administration, and ask that they reverse the Africana Center decision immediately!
oTake a copy of the petition to your Africana, African, African-American, Black, Latino, Indigenous, Asian and Asian American, Ethnic or Feminist/Women’s studies departments, programs, and classes which are vulnerable and/or currently under attack and we’ll support you, too! (Contact us with ways to do so!)
oTalk about the attack on the Africana Studies and Research Center at your next public speaking event, presentation, etc, and encourage people to find out more!
o Bring the petition to house shows, parties, church, potlucks, sports events, community meetings, roller derby, block parties, flea markets, open-air concerts, etc!
o Follow SAC on twitter at http://twitter.com/SaveAfricana to get the latest updates from folks on the ground!
o Write a letter of support for the struggle to preserve the Africana Center's independence from the College of Arts and Sciences, and please be sure to send us a copy at saveasrc@gmail.com:
